There Are Many Epsteins Out There - because people want to be led
The man was clearly brilliant and deeply knowledgeable on a wide range of topics. If one did not already know what he was accused of, one could just as easily have been caught in his web. He was able to read people and give them back something of themselves. That is how almost everyone who met him and he set his sights on was ensnared by him. From royalty to presidents, to prison guards. All the commentators will say this or that with the benefit of 20-20 hindsight. But, remember, there are many Epstein-like characters out there who are not predatorial but who are just as dangerous in other ways. If we met them, many would just as easily be convinced to tag along. "Cast aside your net and follow me." His voice alone was surprisingly mild. It certainly was not charming, not confrontational.
